The Internaitonal AIDS Conference held in Toronto, Canada included a repository for audio-visual materials addressing aspects of the HIV/AIDS pandemic. My video "AIDS and the Arts in Africa, 2001" was accepted for exhibition in this AV center. "AIDS and the Arts in Africa" is a 20 minute documentary produced at NMU with footage shot on location in South Africa and Mali. The documentry highlights the multiple ways African performance artists are using their talents to warn people in their societies about the dangers of HIV/AIDS. Produced by Louise Bourgault and Edited by Lon Markham of Talking Gorilla Productions.
