Dan Gocella received both his Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Conservation and his Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from NMU. His thesis, Shades of Clear, is a work of nonfiction that examines the interaction between the human and non-human worlds. Dan has been a teaching assistant for the English Department since 2007. Currently, he is collaborating on a collection of essays that focuses on the world’s wild rivers, tentatively titled Home Waters.
