Gypsy Schindler

Gypsy Schindler has been teaching since 2006, and was an Assistant Professor at Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids, MI from 2009 - 2013. She is currently the Assistant Professor of Drawing, Painting and Printmaking at Northern Michigan University in Marquette, MI.

She has exhibited locally, nationally and internationally since 1996, been published in several books, magazines and websites. She has a BFA from Kendall College of Art and Design, attended SACI (Student Art Centers International) in Florence, Italy and received her MFA from Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, MI in 2007.

Gypsy’s work focuses on the figure immersed in social, political and personal content. She uses traditional mixed media processes of drawing and painting, while integrating non-traditional surfaces and installation presentations.
