Background and Interests

Professor Aumann joined the faculty at Northern in the fall of 2010. Previously, he taught at the Ohio State University and held a post-doctoral fellowship at St. Olaf College. He regularly teaches courses on aesthetics, religion, and existentialism, and helps to oversee the Religious Studies Minor. His research primarily focuses on the writings of Kierkegaard and Nietzsche. However, he also works on contemporary issues concerning the philosophy of literature and the emotions.
