Abstract
NMU hosted its 3rd annual OneWorldBeat Benefit concert for AIDS Affected Children. The concert aims to hold musical events during the same week-end throughout the world, all aimed at raising funds for AIDS-affected children. Funds were raised in 2006 for the Tumaini Children's Home, a project of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Nairobi, Kenya. The concert featured the talents of the Bernard Woma, Kofi Ameyaw, of Ghana, and Mark Stone of Oakland University. All are members of the Bernard Woma Trio. Also joining in the concert were Combo Caliente, a local musical ensemble, and the Volcy Brothers, students of Northern Michigan University. Louise Bourgault executive produced the concert.
