Abstract
To write Part One of a novel about three generations of ranchers in Bonner County, Idaho. The novel explores the values of these people who make their living from the land;their traditins of family life; and the conflicts among the generations over use of the land. The principal characters are an eighty year old rancher dying from cancer; his wife, their widower son; and a neighbor widow.
