Abstract
The Last Goose on Earth follows, poem by poem, the burgeoning relationship between Bea, a young human girl, and Goose, the last Canada goose on earth—it simultaneously traces the tenuous, vitalized connections between human and animal, person and environment, family grief and species loss.

Justification for Restricting Access
I would like to request an embargo of five years due to the creative nature of this project; I intend to publish the poems in this thesis within the next five years. The majority of literary magazines and presses consider an accessible thesis document to be a prior publication, which would present a significant copyright barrier in my publishing these works.
