Abstract
This novel is about an adolescent artist with undiagnosed depressive tendencies and a penchant for the grotesque. The main action takes place in Brooklyn, New York, during the calendar year of 1999. The central characters in this book are coping with anxiety, loss, and lethargy as they wander a desolate city landscape, gradually crossing over into a surreal world representing the creative unconscious. Among the themes explored are expiring friendships, romantic values, the fear of the unknown, and the creative process itself.
