About

Conspectus Borealis is Northern Michigan University’s undergraduate interdisciplinary journal of scholarly and creative works created and run by the Honors Program. Our goal is to publish exemplary scholarly and creative works of all genres to highlight to the public the academic advancements students at NMU are making, regardless of major, minor, or academic program. In order to be as inclusive as possible, we are pleased to accept a wide variety of submissions. These can include scholarly works (research articles, lab reports, technical papers, expository articles, etc.); creative writing pieces (prose, poetry, short stories, creative nonfiction, etc.); visual art pieces (sculpture, paintings, photographs, jewelry, etc.); or stories, essays, or creative pieces written in a foreign language. As a general rule, if an undergraduate student at Northern can write or create it, we will gladly review it! One exception are audio or video projects. Audio and video files can be included as supplementary files for text based submissions, but not as the primary media. If you have any questions please contact us.
