Abstract

Plugging in to content-area literacy can be a powerful learning experience! This presentation invites participants to re-discover texts using new, broadened conceptions of text and literacy. Modeling strategies, activities, and lessons, participants will also demonstrate ways that, for example, visual texts allow for multiple readings, tap into hidden literacies, and build content-area knowledge.
